Sam Burgoine, otherwise known as Lil Burg, is an up and coming rapper from the UK and lives within Leicestershire. He has just released his newest hit single , Sunflower and is excited to announce his first ever UK tour with the exclusive preview of his new album.
Ever since Lil Burg attended Thomas Estley Middle School, as a 12-year-old who wrote his first rap about his neighbourhood in Leicester, his dream was to make music. It wasn’t until he was a sixth former at Lutterworth College that he took his craft seriously. You wouldn’t see him participating in lunchtime cyphers or free-styling off the top. Instead, he chose to write his rhymes in his notebook or phone, mediating on what he came up with each time.
He used the time in the inside to write a lot music, which he says will end up on his debut album called My Moment. Formerly known as Burgo, he earned the nickname “Lil Burg” From class mates who saw him as being the little man and due to his last name being Burgoine, they decided to shorten it to Burg.
What surprised Lil Burg is how big of a reception the video got when he shared it on YouTube last October. In the clip, directed by Theresa Hickin, it shows Lil Burg's take on how people are viewed in society which is a topic which heavily influenced him in writing his lyrics. He says it reached a large number of views in three days which he perceived as being a milestone in his rap career.
